Sun-kissed Make Up - All You Need To Know!

As the summer months approach and the sun begins to come out in the usually rainy London, many look to be 'sun-kissed' without experiencing sun damage. It is essential to wear sunscreen during the summer to prevent skin damage and ageing, but simultaneously, we all also want to look tanned, maybe even the slightest bit burned.

This is where make-up comes in!! There are various signs that someone has been in the sun for some time: a bit of burn, a bit of tan, and sometimes even some freckles! You can achieve the look of being in the sun with the techniques of over-bronzing and over-blushing.

Here are my product recommendations for achieving this look and keeping our skin safe!

Benefit Benetint:

This lip and cheek tint is my tried and true product for the summer months. Not only is it long-lasting, but the colour it creates is so natural and pretty! It seamlessly blends into the skin once you get the hang of it, but you must remember to work fast. If left in one spot for too long, the staining process begins and leaves an unnatural mark. Regardless of this slight user error, I could not recommend this product enough. It is the best touch-up product to slip into my purse before heading out for a beach day drenched in SPF!

Colorpop Freckle Pen:

I love enhancing my freckles for the summer months, and this pen is my go-to! The tip of the applicator is precise and creates natural-looking freckles that make me look like I have been sitting in the sun for a while. I find faux freckles the least necessary but cutest addition to my 'sun-kissed' routine. If you want to achieve some natural freckles this summer as a beginner, I recommend trying a freckle pen like this. An alternative is simply taking a brown liquid eyeliner, which also does the trick.

Rare Beauty Cream Bronzer:

This bronzer is my favourite summer bronzer due to its highly creamy formula that leaves me looking natural yet tanned. The shade variety in this cream bronzer is awe-inspiring as it has so many undertones to offer, which is rare for a bronzer shade range. Being extra bronzed in the summer always leaves me feeling good, and this product is the most user-friendly of any bronzer I have tried.
